Community Guidelines

Version 2026-07-11 · Effective 11 July 2026

Version: 2026-07-11 · Effective: 11 July 2026

Stellenmedia (Pty) Ltd operates Seekulu, a place to discover and share real outdoor experiences in Southern Africa — camping, overlanding, 4x4, hiking, and caravanning. Everyone who posts, reviews, or comments agrees to follow these guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service.

1. Be real

  • Post place-tagged trip content from experiences you actually had.
  • Write honest reviews based on a genuine visit — no fake stars, no paid reviews without disclosure.
  • Use your personal camper profile in the feed. Businesses must not author organic feed posts as if they were campers.

2. Keep it relevant

Trip posts must be tagged to a place. Reviews and comments should relate to outdoor travel, campsites, trails, and conditions — not unrelated promotion.

3. Prohibited content

Do not post or encourage:

Category Examples
Spam / scams Repetitive posts, phishing, pyramid schemes
Harassment / hate Threats, slurs, bullying, doxxing
Explicit / violent Sexual content, gratuitous gore
Illegal activity Poaching, trespassing, illegal off-roading in protected areas
Dangerous misinformation False claims about water, fire bans, road safety, or access that could harm others
Fake reviews Reviews for places you did not visit; astroturfing
Business spam Promotional feed posts from host or brand accounts
Impersonation Pretending to be another person or business
IP / privacy violations Posting others' private information without consent

4. Reviews

  • One review per place per user, subject to cooldown rules.
  • Sub-scores for water, shade, road, and similar factors should reflect your honest assessment.
  • Hosts may reply to reviews from the host portal in later phases. Replies must stay factual and respectful.

5. Reporting and enforcement

Use in-app Report on posts, comments, reviews, or profiles. Our moderation team may dismiss reports, hide content, issue warnings, or temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts. Severe violations, such as illegal content or credible threats, may skip warnings.

6. Appeals

If you believe we made a mistake, contact [email protected] with your username and a description of the action taken.

7. Updates

We may update these guidelines from time to time. When we publish a new version, we will post it at /legal/community-guidelines with an updated version date. Material changes require you to re-accept in the app before continuing to use Seekulu.
